The Sunday Alternative is a SECULAR congregation that celebrates life, meeting once a month in ˿Ƶ. Members of the Assembly believe in Living Better, Helping Often and Wondering More, for no other reason than to make the most of the one life we know we have.

Join artist Charlotte Hollis in this exploration in historic blackwork embroidery and self-description. In this 2-hour workshop, you will reflect on how to describe yourself in one word to finish the sentence ‘I am..’. You’ll then stitch an Elizabethan blackwork pattern that calls to you to complete your bookmark. Just bring yourself as you’ll leave the workshop with all the materials and knowledge you need to finish your piece at home.
Based on Charlotte’s large blackwork and reflection piece called ‘The Lady Ratcliffe Project’, you will be encouraged to think positively about yourself; choosing a word from a bank of patterns, or asking Charlotte to pattern a word of your choice. You’ll then choose an extant historic blackwork pattern and reflect on your ‘I am..’ sentence through the meditative rhythm of blackwork.

The Royal Berkshire Archives is hosting an exhibition on the life and legacy of author and Berkshire resident Agatha Christie. The exhibition will showcase artefacts and memorabilia belonging to Christie collector, Gale Goddard, alongside documents from the archives. This exhibition will mark 100 years since Agatha Christie's infamous disappearance from her home in Sunningdale, and it will include the only known surviving copy of the missing persons poster produced by Wokingham police.

The LGBTQ+ Students' Get Together is a chance for you to connect with other students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning or any other minority sexual orientation or gender identity.
Join us for a casual session to mingle with other students! This event is for ˿Ƶ students (2026/27 academic year) only. Please bring your student ID, as it will be checked on the door.
