In our centenary year we’re introducing a brand new music bursary. The bursary aims to support talented young people to continue to learn and grow as musicians, performers and group leaders.
Each bursary is worth £600 and students will receive:
- a series of one-to-one lessons for their instrument or voice
- recital and masterclass opportunities
- in-depth training and learning opportunities for how to lead musical groups and conduct ensembles
- event management training
- musical career development advice.
Dan Miller, Head of Music says:
“All too often I’ve seen incredibly talented musicians arrive at university and have to make seriously tough decisions about their financial priorities. Student loans barely cover the essentials, so music lessons slip out of reach.
"With this new bursary, I want to ensure that as many musicians as possible continue to keep music central in their lives, develop their talents and progress on a positive pathway."
