Areas of interest
I work part time at the University and also within the Food Industry as a consultant. My main areas of interest are supporting smaller food businesses with setting up Food Safety Quality systems, auditing, training and project management including NPD. My wider interests are Food defence, Food Safety, Quality and HACCP.
Background
I have worked in the Food Industry for over 28 years, with roles within manufacturing covering Product Development, Technical and Quality across soft drinks, snacks, sauces & dressings, icecream, seasonings / coatings and sandwiches / sandwich fillings. I’ve also worked in the certification sector within supply chain and bespoke audit programmes. As part of these roles I have worked with colleagues across the world – mainly Asia, USA, Middle East and Europe and travelled to many other countries whilst auditing. I enjoy teaching about topics such as Quality Systems and HACCP and hope to support students to relate theory into practice - preparing them for employment in the future.
