For Part 0 International Foundation Programmes (IFP) and International Foundation Year (IFY)

The deadline for changing Semester 1 optional modules has now closed.

The deadline for changing Semester 2 optional modules is 20 February 2026 12:30pm (UK Time).

If you want to make changes to your optional modules please contact the module selection team using Ask A Question or by emailing moduleselection@reading.ac.uk from your University email account, providing the module code and module title of the module(s) you wish to change.

For Part 0 Foundation Year (FY)

The deadline for changing Semester 1 optional modules has now closed.

Where your programme permits the selection of optional modules in Semester 2, the Online Optional Module Selections portal on opens on Monday 27 October 2025 at 09:00 (UK Time).

The Semester 2 online module selection period closes on Friday 14 November 2025 at 12:30 (UK time), you will normally be required to have a total of 140 Credits across both Semester 1 and 2 to meet the requirements of your programme.

If you want to change optional modules please contact the module selection team using or by emailing moduleselection@reading.ac.uk from your University email account, providing the module code and module title of the module(s) you wish to change.

Part 1 students

Please  to view your programme specific information to see if your programme requires students to select Semester 2 optional modules.

The deadline for changing Semester 1 optional modules has now closed.

You can make Semester 2 optional module selections from Monday 27 October 2025 at 09:00 (UK time).

If you are enrolled on a Languages for All module:

If you selected and are enrolled on a Languages for All (formerly Institution-Wide Language Programme IWLP) module or were placed on a higher language level or Greek or Latin module, you will need to contact the module selection team using Ask A Question or by emailing moduleselection@reading.ac.uk from your University email account, to confirm your Semester 2 optional modules. You will need to provide the module code and module title of the optional module(s) you would like to study in Semester 2.

The deadline for making Semester 2 optional module selections is Friday 14 November 2025 at 12:30 (UK time).

Students who are NOT enrolled on a Languages for All module:

Where your programme permits the selection of optional modules in Semester 2, and you are NOT taking any Language module, the Online Optional Module Selections portal on opens on Monday 27 October 2025 at 09:00 (UK time).

The Semester 2 online module selection period closes on Friday 14 November 2025 at 12:30 (UK time).

All students will be required to have a total of 120 Credits across both Semester 1 and 2 to meet the requirements of your programme.

Please use the Ask A Question service if you require any support with your optional modules.  

Part 2, 3 and 4 Undergraduate students

The deadline for changing Semester 1 optional modules has now closed.

If you want to change a module run by the Languages for All (LfA) (formerly Institution-Wide Language Programme IWLP) to another LfA module you may make such changes up to week 4 (12:30 on the Friday) of Semester 1. If a student wishes to change from an LfA module to another Semester 2 module this must be done by week 7 (12:30 on the Friday) of Semester 1.

The deadline for changing Semester 2 optional modules is 20 February 2026 12:30pm (UK time).

If you want to change optional modules please contact the module selection team using or by emailing moduleselection@reading.ac.uk from your University email account, providing the module code and module titles of the module(s) you wish to change. 

Postgraduate Taught Students

The deadline for changing Semester 1 optional modules has now closed.

If you want to change a module run by the Languages for All (LfA) (formerly Institution-Wide Language Programme IWLP) to another LfA module you may make such changes up to week 4 (12:30 on the Friday) of Semester 1. If a student wishes to change from an LfA module to another Semester 2 module this must be done by week 7 (12:30 on the Friday) of Semester 1.

The deadline for changing Semester 2 optional modules is 20 February 2026 12:30pm (UK time).
